Aqueduct Racetrack
A thoroughbred horse racing track opened in 1894 and operated by the New York Racing Association, nicknamed 'the Big A.' It is the only thoroughbred track within New York City limits.
Why it matters
Aqueduct carried New York racing through the winter for generations and hosted the Wood Memorial, a key Kentucky Derby prep. Its grounds also host Resorts World, and the site is being significantly redeveloped.

Racing operations at Aqueduct have been in flux: NYRA has been consolidating thoroughbred racing at a rebuilt Belmont Park, and Aqueduct's future as a racing venue is uncertain. Verify current race meets before publishing.
